The Maine Aviation Historical Society holds monthly membership meetings.  These
meetings allow us to organize and manage the Museum but they also provide us an
opportunity to have programs and speakers that help us learn more about the aviation
history in Maine.  Meetings are held the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM.

Meetings are open to the public and we would encourage you to attend and learn more
about us.  Also, please bring a friend.

Most meetings are held at the Museum but during the winter months we hold meetings at
various locations around the State.  This gives us an opportunity to visit other places and
    meet new people.

Meetings

The March meeting will be held at the Boothbay Railroad Village, Boothbay, on March 13th. at
10:00 AM.
In April we will return to the Museum.

The address is 586 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.  (This is actually “Route 27).  Going North:   If
attendees take Route 1 thru the village of Wiscasset  you cross the river and beyond, Rte 27 will
go off to the right.  It is a ways down Rte 27, heading toward Boothbay Harbor.  Coming
South:  On Route 1, Route 27 is off to the left well before the bridge and Wiscasset Village.  The
meeting will be in the Railway Village “Town Hall” building.  Those interested in staying after
lunch, that’s  when Norm Houle will be the “guest lecturer” and he will do his slide presentation
on the 40 year history of Northeast Airlines.

It is that time of the year where the weather can be a problem.  If conditions require that we
postpone the meeting, it will be posted on this site and also on the voice mail at the Museum.

We will be open for the summer season starting on Memorial Day weekend till Labor Day.   The
museum is once again closed for the winter season, reopening Memorial Day weekend, 2010.

Please join us at one of our meetings held throughout the winter months at various off-site
locations.

As always volunteers are needed.  Can you spare a few hours to help us out??  If so
drop me a note (les@maine.edu) or call the Museum and leave a message.  We do
need your help.

We had a wonderful tour of the Maine Military Museum in south Portland.  The owner and              curator
Lee Humiston gave us a great personal tour with lots of stories on all the exhibits.  The Museum         isn't
the largest but is dedicated to the POW/MIA's and is very rich in history.

Thank you Lee and good luck.
