Volunteers
Volunteers are always needed.  No special experience is required and we have
tasks for everyone.  We have a few basic rules, if you are under 18 then there
must be an adult present when you are working and we ask that you be polite and
friendly during your time with us.

We expect to put another coat of paint on the outside of the building as soon as
the weather gets warmer.  We need volunteers to man the Museum during the
    open season.

We are open Memorial Day Weekend through at least Labor Day and maybe longer
depending on traffic and volunteers.  We have the need for tour guides.  Again no
special training is required and we have a manual that details many of the exhibits
so you can learn if you wish.  We also need someone to take admission and run
the gift shop.  Again easy work.  We also like to have a couple of people who
simply walk around and answer questions and make sure people are behaving
    themselves.

Our hours are Saturday 10:00 AM till 4:00 PM and Sundays from Noon till 4:00
PM.  We always have at least two people working so there is coverage for breaks
    and lunch.

I hope to have a calendar here so you can quickly see when help is needed and I
will continue to work on this page as we near opening time.  You can also check
here for special projects that might be happening.

If you wish to work you may email me at Les@maine.edu or call the Museum at the
numbers above.  If you can't work at least plan to stop by and visit.  I hope to see
    you this summer.
